The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) has finalised 140 events for the South Asian (SA) Games to be held in early 2010 in Bangladesh.

The 11th edition extravaganza has included highest number of disciplines 23 in this Games history with the inclusion of new disciplines golf, cricket and handball. The 2006 SA Games in Colombo had earlier seen the highest number of 20 disciplines.

The government has exempted the Bangladesh Football Federation from paying all value added tax (VAT) on their sponsorship earnings, said a BFF official on Sunday.

However, the football governing body would have to let the National Board of Revenue (NBR) know time to time about all their deals, sponsorship money they were getting as well as the amount of VAT-free money, said BFF general secretary Al Musabbir Sadi.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday decided to place a proposal to the sports minister on holding one or two matches of the 2011 ICC World Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
