A speeding bus ran over and killed a police officer in front of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh on Saturday, police said, reports bdnews24.com

ASM Rafiqul Islam was a sub-inspector of Kafrul Police Station.
 
Kafrul police chief Fazlul Haque said Rafique, a father of two, was traveling by motorcycle, with his cousin Masud behind, to the police station from Dania in Demra. Masud was hurt.
 
The bus rammed into the motorcycle, tossing Rafique onto the road, Haque said.
 
Police arrested bus driver Syed Abdullah Al Mamun, 35, and his assistant Sohel, 22.
 
A case has been filed with Shahbagh Police Station.
