Business leaders of Bangladesh Cement, Iron and Steel Merchant Association have urged acting CCC mayor Alhaj M Monzur Alam for allowing trucks to ply by day time in a bid to stem loss in business, says a press release.

They also handed over a memorandum to the mayor in this regard.

“ Chittagong is characterized specially as the port city where plying of goods carriers particularly trucks should be a common feature” observed the merchants during handing of the memo. But banning trucks by day would mean a great loss to the business of Ctg that is responsible for contributing to national economy they added.

Leaders of the association including M S Alam, president of the assoc, Alhaj M Hakim Ali, Vice President, Alhaj Asfaq Ahmed, Secy Gen, Alhaj A HM Shaib Shamim, Jt. Secy, Gen, Alhaj Jashimuddin, Finance Secy, M A Faruq, Co  Finance Secy, Ali Akber, Industry Secy, Hasan Morshed, Cultural Secy, Badsa Mia, Shafiq Uddin Chy, Ahsan Habib and Md. Abdul Gaffar all members were present on the occasion.
