Staff Correspondent The Rapid Action Battalion has taken disciplinary action against five of its members between September 2007 and January 27 on charge of anti-organisational activities, official sources said. The accused battalion members are army sergeant Abdus Salam, havildar Abdul Khalek, Bangladesh Rifles nayek Naba Kumar Biwas, police havildar Fazlur Rahman and police nayek Abdur Rahim. All the accused were members of RAB 3. A high official of RAB 3 told, 'Army sergeant Salam and havildar Khalek tried to misappropriate Tk 52,600 during the preparation of a seizure list in January.' 'Both were forced into retirement on Sunday,' the official said. Three others lost jobs for arresting an innocent man in September 2007. |
