Tigers reach Darwin

Dhaka, Aug 15 (bdnews24.com) - The Bangladesh national cricket team reached Darwin Friday morning on a three-week tour of Australia to play three one-day internationals and five practice matches against the world champions.

On reaching, the Tigers went swimming in the hotel pool to relax after the long journey from Bangladesh to Darwin via Hong Kong and Sydney, according to a Bangladesh Cricket Board message received here.

Bangladesh will open their tour on Aug 18 taking on Australia Institute of Sports in the first practice match. The visitors will also play another three matches against the same rivals on Aug 20, 23 and 25.

Then the visitors will be tested against Territory Chief Minister's XI on Aug 27 before engaging in the ODI series.

Bangladesh will take on Ricky Ponting's men in the series opener on Aug 30 while the second and third matches are scheduled for Sept 3 and 6 respectively.
