Books and sports can help develop latent talents of learners

Eminent columnist and industrialist Alhaj Nurul Islam B.Sc yesterday said, the future of the nation lies invisible in the children. Hence, in a bid to build up an enlightened society, the importance of reading books and taking part in sports side by side with education is immeasurable.

He was speaking as Chief Guest at a discussion titled “ Improving the standard of education and motivating learners to be book and sports oriented” jointly organized by Nurul Islam Siksha Samannoy, Nib Patagarh and Research Center and Quality Sports on March 26 at city’s B.Sc Square at Chandgaon.

The chief guest said, sports and cultural activities can help flourish the latent talent of learners. Nusis President Afsaruddin Ahmed Khan presided over the discussion where Hossain Shahid Mufti, SM N. Hossain, Zahedul Islam, Ln Didarul Alam, Hafez Ahmed, Mosih Salam, Prof. Alem Alim, Prof. Abu Al Said, Alhaj Saleh Ahmed and journalist Afsar Mahfuz were also present.

Later prizes were distributed among the brilliant students and winners of speech competition, says a press release.
