Ongkon Shoiley Art School holds art competition

Ongkon Shoiley Art School organized an open art competition for kids to observe its 1st anniversary and to observe International Mother Language Day at its Dhanmondi Branch Road: 2. A large number students from different schools including Ongkon Shoiley Art School participated in the art competition in 3 different categories.

Theme of the art competition was 21st February 2008 – the International Mother Language Day.

3 crest for three 1st winners in A, B & C categories, and special crest was awarded to Fairooz Sadaf Susan for her beautiful art work. She is only 4 years of age, studying at play group in Maple Leaf International School.

50 numbers participants in total, i.e. 25 in A, 20 in B, and 5 in C – categories were given books & certificates, courtesy by: Onno Prokash, Hatekhori, Itee Prokashoni and Ongkur Prokashani. By giving books, Ongkon Shoiley Art School has linked the day with bengal, bengali and has made a bridge in between art & culture-heritage of bengali.

Kids loved the program very much. A raffle draw was made by registration coupon; and two lucky draw winners were given scholarship in terms of free studentship in drawing for life time at Ongkon Shoiley Art School. Already two kids were given scholarship as full free studentships in drawing from 2007. Mr. Md. Motlub Ali, Professor – Charukala Institute, Dhaka University attended the program as chief guest.

He inaugurated the art competition program, and declared opening of the official web site of Ongkon Shoiley Art School on air. The feature of art school, information of admission is available at with country's first real online art gallery for kids where one kids can display his/her art works, and can able to sell it to anywhere in the world. 50% of the price of any artwork that will be sold will be given to the kid artist.

Web development partner – IDEA Media has provided a volunteer service for the development of web site of Ongkon Shoiley Art School, will do everything like upgrading and linking the site to all over the world as an E-commerce site.

Mr. Nontu attended & addressed to the audience about the success of any venture of Ongkon Shoiley Art School in the coming days and IDEA Media will feel proud to stay side by side with Ongkon Shoiley Art School. Special guest of the inauguration ceremony renowned dramatist & artist Mr. Mannan Heera addressed importance of the International Mother Language Day for the bengali nation, and registered the heroic language movement as one of the greatest achievement of this nation.

He appreciated the activities of Ongkon Shoiley Art School by launching the open art competition, and wished a great success of them in the future too. Mr. Tosaddeq Ali, General Manager of Amaar Radio 101.6 fm, addressed the day as great day to the bengali nation.

He wished the success of Ongkon Shoiley Art School, and confirms his support as Media Partner in the future too. Ms. Nusrat Jahan, Vice Principal of Naila Memorial Fleur Tutorial said she is happy to see such a gathering at her school premises. She wishes all the success of Ongkon Shoiley Art School.

Mr. Md. Enamul Haq and Mrs. Monira Hasan Payel said the day must be remembered by them as there are lot of funs and activities to observe their school's 1st anniversary and to observe the International Mother Language Day. If there are companies for sponsorship to them, they said they have many plans of future events like art exhibition or competition that may be organized for kids only in national level also.

They said learning fine arts by kids is not only as hobby today or a subject of a school syllabus today; the way one kid is mixing colors, decorate it & create some artwork, those are come from the inner side of brain storming which make a kid as think tank, his thinking capability has been developed by this way, and in future he will act as a good planner.

So today importance of a good learning in fine arts for kids need to be considered as greater extends. And Ongkon Shoiley Art School has done everything for the exposure of kids' talents.
