BSF Kills Two at Chapainawabganj

Two Bangladeshi citizens were shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force at Shingnagar border at Shibganj Upazila in Chapainawabganj.

The deceased are Fatik, 30, of Shibganj's Parchouka village in Monakasha union, and Ismail Hossain, 25, of Pialmari village.

Lt Col Zayed Hossain, commander of 39th Rifles Battalion in Chapainawabganj, said Indian border guards in Doulatpur Camp of the Baisnabpur 151 battalion fired shots at eight to ten cattle traders, near the main border pillar 172 on the Shingnagar border, as they were entering Indian Territory.

Ismail Hossain and Fatik died on spot while the others succeeded to flee from the scene.

BSF have taken the dead bodies into Indian territory.

Zayed Hossain said a letter, protesting the killing and demanding the bodies back, has been sent to the BSF.
