GP Launches Own Handset

Grameenphone on Monday introduced a handset branded GP, the first time any operator in Bangladesh has brought its own handset to the market.

"The Grameenphone V100 handset, to be available in the market from Sep 1, gives a lot of features in an affordable price," Oddvar Hesjedal, CEO of the country's largest mobile-phone operator, said at the lunch at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel.

The handset, produced and developed specially for Grameenphone under the technological guidance of Huwaei Technologies of China, gives one year warranty, has FM radio, Internet, MMS features and a 0.3 mega pixel digital camera at Tk 3,199.
