Rajshahi traffic department filed cases against motor vehicles

The traffic department of Rajshahi metropolitan police filed cases against 4,733 motor vehicles and realised more than Tk 17 lakh in fine in its drive against violation of laws relating to motor vehicles in the last 6 months.

 According to the department, the cases were filed for driving motorcycles, four wheelers, microbuses, buses and trucks on the city roads without valid registration, fitness certificates, route permits, driving licenses, insurance certificates and helmets.

Drivers of the motor vehicles, however, complained about their frequent harassments by the traffic police in the name of checking documents .
