The Bangladesh Football Federation is confident of holding an international football tournament in November after getting a positive response from federations in other countries.

"I had some fruitful discussions with high-ups of different federations in Asia and they assured me that they would send teams whatever we prefer to invite," BFF president Kazi Salahuddin told reporters on Sunday.

He said that they wanted to know the schedule of the tournament.

Salahuddin was speaking after spending a week visiting Qatar, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Indonesia as a part of a campaign to elect a FIFA representative from the AFC executive body.

The election is scheduled to be held on May 8, a day after the AFC congress. AFC president Mohamed Bin Hammam and Bahrain Football Federation president Sheikh Salman are contesting the election.

Salahuddin hinted that he would prefer to hold a club-level tournament with top two teams from Bangladesh participating as they had been participating in different meets organised by the FIFA and the AFC.

He, however, said that the executive committee would take the final decision.
