BFF Earns Near Tk 20 Lakh

The Bangladesh Football Federation earned approximately Tk 20 lakh from ticket sales in the Citycell Super League.

Harun-ur Rashid, chairman of the tournament committee and BFF member, said that we earned Tk 19,38360 though selling tickets in 21 matches including the final.

"It was Tk 5 lakh more than our estimated income of Tk 15 lakh," said Harun at a thanks-giving programme at the BFF House on Sunday.

Of the total income, Tk 7, 68530 came from the final match," said tournament committee vice-chairman Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir adding that some 27,600 tickets were sold on the final and more than five thousand tickets were given free to the different clubs, organisers and the football women's committee.

Claiming the Bangabandhu National Stadium has a 35,000-capacity, Jahangir also that the eastern galleries were open for the school students from the first match to the final game.

However, different newspapers reported that approximately 50,000 was the turnout for the final which Mohammedan Sporting Club won along with Tk one crore prize money beating Dhaka Abahani 1-0.

The BFF thanked the champions, runners-up, rest of the participating teams, media, volunteers, spectators, sponsors and the different committee related to the tournament for a successful completion.
