The Bangladesh Football Federation on Monday launched a publicity campaign ahead of the Citycell Super Cup.

The Tk one crore competition gets underway on March 11 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium with B League champions Abahani taking on Rahmatganj MFS at 4:30pm. The second match between Sheikh Russel and Chittagong Mohammedan is at 6:30pm.

Harunur Rashid, the chairman of the committee and BFF member, inaugurated the campaign releasing balloons in the presence of some footballers at the BFF premises.

Rashid said that two specially designed vehicles would go to 25 to 30 points in the city to drum up awareness and distribute fixtures of the tournament.

He added that the vehicles would campaign in the old parts of the city where most football fans lived.

As part of the programme at BFF House, the eight team jerseys were unveiled with a player from each of the teams posing with a female model.

BFF president Kazi Salahuddin and Citycell CEO Michael Seymour will jointly declare the tournament open.

Before the inauguration, top five singers from the Channel i programme "Khude Ghanraj" will perform for 20 minutes.

The organising committee also decided to keep the eastern gate open for students with uniforms or identity cards.
