United Airlines flies to Barisal

Private airline United Airways was set to take off with flights to Barisal Sunday, to be the only airline operating the domestic route from the capital.

United Airways public relations officer Kamrul Islam told bdnews24.com: "There will be flights on the route three days a week, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday."
 
Flights will depart Dhaka in the mornings on Sunday and Tuesday, and on Thursday the departure will be afternoon.
 
A one way ticket including tax will be Tk 4,495 and a return will cost Tk 8,990.
 
On the inaugural flight, a free ticket will be given to passengers buying two or more tickets, Kamrul Islam informed.
 
United Airways, with 95 per cent investment by expatriate Bangladeshis, started its formal operations on July 10, 2007.
 
United Airways' maiden flight to Kolkata took off Wednesday. The airline is operating one round-trip everyday from Dhaka to the Indian city.
 
The flight takes off from Zia International Airport at 3:20pm.
 
United Airways currently operates domestic flights to Chittagong, Sylhet, Jessore and Cox's Bazar from the capital.
 
The airline has two Canadian 37-seater aircrafts.
