Awami League joint general secretary Obaidul Kader was barred from travelling to New Delhi for medical treatment, his lawyer AKM Amin Uddin said Saturday.

Obaidul was set to fly to Indian capital on a Jet Airways flight at 9.20am.
Amin Uddin said: "The immigration official told us that his departure was halted as a superior authority didn't give the permission."
"He has now returned to BSMMU Hospital."
The immigration official, not wanting to be named, confirmed to bdnews24.com that Obaidul was not travelling to Delhi.
Obaidul Kader was released on bail at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital on Sep 5, where he remained for treatment.
He was arrested on March 9, 2007 on graft charges.
