Bagerhat BNP chief beaten by party men

Bagerhat district BNP's acting president Shamsul Haque was attacked and injured by party supporters on Friday.

He was receiving treatment at Bagerhat Sadar Hospital. Hospital sources said he had been given a few stitches in the head.
 
The incident occurred in front of the party office at New Market at 3pm in presence of the party's senior leaders.
 
Haque came to attend a party meeting there, which was foiled. Police visited the scene.
 
BNP has formed a five-member enquiry committee with district BNP vice president Ali Reza Babu as its convenor and asked it to submit a report by 72 hours.
 
Haque has held some leaders of district BNP for the attack.
