The city experienced a 57 mm rain on Friday as a low developed in the north and western part of the Bay of Bengal, local Met office said.

The office has asked the all three ports—Chittagong, Mongla and Cox's Bazar—to hoist danger signal number 3.

The city experienced a 57 mm rain on Friday as a low developed in the north and western part of the Bay of Bengal, local Met office said.

The office has asked the all three ports—Chittagong, Mongla and Cox's Bazar—to hoist danger signal number 3.
 
"This low can result in storm, rain and thunder storm in the north bay and the coastal areas of the country," Abdul Mannan, the on-duty weather official, told bdnews24.com Friday night.
 
Besides, the river ports in the Southern part and other areas were asked to hoist local signal number 2, Mannan said.
 
The official said rain occurred in Dhaka, Chandpur, Khepupara, Comilla, Patuakhali, Khulna, Jessore, Satkhira and Faridpur on Friday afternoon.
 
He said a 57-mm rain was recorded in city.
