The benchmark indices of the two bourses marked fall until midday on Tuesday.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index lost 55.96 points or 0.93 percent to 5935.41 at 12:49pm.

Of the 237 issues traded by then, 39 advanced, 184 declined and 14 remained unchanged.

The turnover stood at Tk 1.9 billion.

Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) Selective Categories Index stood at 10709.7 points, down 50.05 points or 0.46 percent at 12:49pm.

Out of the 140 traded issues, 32 gained, 97 slipped and 11 showed no change.

The turnover stood at Tk 234 million.
