Following spells of fluctuations, two bourses showed constant uptrend until one hour before the closing of trading on Wednesday.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index gained 207.36 points to stand at 6258.46 within 30 minutes of trading, but immediately fell by over 150 points to come down to about 6100 points around 11:45am.

Continuing the rise and fall, the index at 2pm touched 6294.74 points, up by 243.63 points or 4.02 percent from the beginning.

Out of 256 issues traded by then, 233 advanced, 21 slipped and two remained unchanged.

The turnover stood at Tk 9.21 billion.

Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) showed a wavering trend as well.

Following a spell of fluctuation, CSE Selective Categories Index gained 284.65 points to stand at 11340.11 points at 2:12pm.

Out of the 194 issued traded by then, 179 gained, 13 declined and two remained unchanged.
