Tigers in Ctg For Warm-Up Match PDF Print E-mail

The national cricket team has reached Chittagong to play a warm-up match ahead of the World Cup.

They arrived in the port city airport around 8:10pm on Wednesday, Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir, chairman of the Chittagong venue told

Bangladesh on Saturday will play Canada in their first practice match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium and on Pakistan on Feb 15 in Dhaka.

There will be a practice session on the following day around 2pm at the World Cup venue. The tigers earlier held a conditioning camp from Feb 1 to 4.

Canada will reach Chittagong on Thursday around 7pm.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan on Tuesday at a press meet said: "We know the playing conditions, our boys are fit and preparation is fine. Besides, we've improved a lot in the last 12-15 months."

About the possible teams to play the practice matches, he said, "Ahead of the World Cup, we'll do some experiment with the players."

Chittagong will host two matches of the first round, to begin on Feb 19, with England on Mar 11 and the Netherlands on Mar 14.
