HC Orders Probe into Autopsy Reports PDF Print E-mail

WHIPPED TO DEATH

The High Court has ordered investigation into the dissimilarities between the two autopsy reports for Hena Akter, who was recently whipped to death at Naria in Shariatpur.

The bench of justices A H M Shamsuddin Chowdhury and Sheikh Mohamad Zakir Hossain on Thursday gave the order after hearing statements from Hena's father Darbesh Ali, sister Minu Begum and several others.

The court asked the inspector general of police to keep sharp vigil so that such 'fatwa' incidents are not repeated.

It also asked that action be taken against two police officials of Naria.

Union Parishad member Idris Ali, who was summoned by the court, was arrested following the court order.
