Commerce minister Faruk Khan has expressed his concern that there might be an unstable market during Ramadan because of a vested syndicate group.

"The government has taken the appropriate steps to keep the market stable. But some people might plot to make it unstable," he said at a procession arranged by the Rickshaw-Van Workers' League at Bangabandhu Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

The minister urged everyone to be alert to the situation.

The minister said, "The government has already made the price of essential goods including oil and sugar cheaper than before. Now it is trying to keep the price stable."

A decision had been taken to distribute essential goods at a reasonable price through 1,800 dealers of the TCB (Trading Corporation of Bangladesh) across the country during Ramadan, he said.
