The education ministry has formed a five-member committee to investigate the leak of government secondary school assistant teachers' recruitment test questions.

The education ministry's senior information official Subodh Chandra Dhali told that the committee has been formed by order of the education minister.

Dhali added that additional secretary Mohammad SM Golam Faruk will be leading the committee, and that the committee has been asked to submit its report in 10 days.

Other committee members are the joint secretary and a deputy secretary of the education ministry, two representatives from the establishment ministry and home ministry respectively.

A total of 167 people were detained from a tourism centre at the Gangachharha Upazila in Rangpur on Thursday on the charge of leaking the question papers.

The police have already identified eight people, including two employees of establishment ministry and Bangladesh Government Press, as being involved with the leakage.

All 167 arrestees have already been placed before the Rangpur Judicial Magistrates' Court on Friday and the court ordered that they be sent to jail.

After the leak of questions on Thursday, the education ministry stalled the recruitment test of secondary school, which was supposed to be held on Friday.

A total of 0.132 million applicants were supposed to sit the test across the country on Friday.
