BNP Expels Ex-MP Salahuddin PDF Print E-mail

Dhaka metropolitan BNP leader and former MP Salahuddin Ahmed has been expelled from the party on charges of breaching discipline, a senior party leader said.

He was the cooperative affairs secretary of the newly formed central committee.

Party chairperson Khaleda Zia had received complaints that the former Demra legislator had been involved in factional grouping in the metropolitan committee, office secretary Rizvi Ahmed told bdnews24.com on Thursday.

Former Dhaka metropolitan BNP president Sadeque Hossain Khoka held a rally at Muktangan on the orders of the chairperson on Jan 27. Salahuddin announced a counter programme, he also said.

Salahuddin was a vice president to defunct BNP's Dhaka city committee and faced more than one corruption cases the by Anticorruption Commission. He was arrested by the joint forces after the changeover on Jan 11, 2007.
