Abul Hasanat Abdullah, whose father was killed on Aug 15 1975, welcomed the final judgment.

"We have received justice after 34 long years," he said.

"The nation has erased the stains of the past through this verdict."

Hasanat's father, Abdur Rob Serniyabat, was among the sixteen people slain on that fateful day.
