Former BNP MP Nasir Uddin Ahmed Pintu was sent to jail on Thursday spending nine days in remand, in three separate phases, for interrogation in the BDR mutiny case.
CID investigation officer Abdul Kahar Akhand requested the Dhaka chief metropolitan magistrate court to detain him without seeking further remand.
Pro-BNP lawyers sought bail but the court rejected their prayer.
Pintu was arrested on June 2 at the High Court premises on charges of abetting BDR mutineers escape border force's Peelkhana headquarters during the Feb 25-26 mutiny.
Akhand said Pintu gave inconsistent information during his first interrogation, but later revealed significant information.
He gave names and addresses of abettors, the CID officer said in his plea to the court to jail Pintu.
