Five persons were killed and 10 others injured when a bus and a 'tempo' or an improvised passenger van collided head-on at Dosharpar on Mymensingh-Haluaghat Road under Haluaghat upazila at around 8:30pm on Friday.

Of the dead, three are women.
 
Seven seriously injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital and the rest admitted to Haluaghat Upazila Hospital.
 
The bus was going to Haluaghat from Mymensingh while the van was going to Mymensingh from Haluaghat.
 
Mymensingh district additional police superintendent SM Aktheruzzaman confirmed the incident.
