Over 100 homes of two villages were affected on early Thursday after a tornado lashed through Vowal and Sonapur unions under Nagarkanda Upazila of Faridpur.

The gusty wind that blew for two minutes hit more than 100 houses of Mridhakanda village shortly before 6am, Vowal Union Parishad chairman Md Delwar Hossain said.
 
Sonapur UP chairman Monir Molla said at least 25 houses of Gopalia village were ravaged.
 
"We have applied for assistance for the vulnerable families," Molla said.
 
Nagarkanda Upazila chief executive Jahangir Alam said hundreds of houses were hit in the two villages.
 
"The affected households are being listed," he said.
