Sheikh Hasina has shown positive attitude towards a proposed meeting with her political rival Khaleda Zia, barrister Rafiqul Huq, who stood for both in the higher courts, said Wednesday, reports bdnews24.com. "But a final decision will come later … once she is back in the country," Huq, now in Singapore, told bdnews24.com senior political correspondent Sumon Mahbub by phone. The barrister said he had spoken with Hasina by phone. "She will consult her party colleagues and weigh public opinion before making a final decision," Huq said. He said Hasina was planning to return after Eid ul Fitr. "She's been through a spell of poor health. It's been really bad. She's suffering from glaucoma. A surgery was required but could not be done." Education adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman said earlier this week that the government had approached the lawyer to help bring the two top leaders across the table to discuss the nation's many crises.
