The government has appointed two new vice chancellors to two universities.

RI Sarker, of the department of farm power and machinery at Bangladesh Agricultural University, told Wednesday that he had been appointed the first ever VC of Jessore's University of Science and Technology where he is presently a project director.
Md Afzal Hossain, professor of biochemistry at Bangladesh Agricultural University, has been appointed VC of Dinajpur's Hajji Danesh University of Science and Technology.
The two new VCs have been appointed for four years by order of the president, the education ministry said.
On Aug 12, a search committee prepared two panels of possible candidates for the position of VC for the two universities. The president ordered the appointment of Afzal Hosain and RI Sarker from the two panels.
