The Supreme Court goes into a 42-day annual vacation from Sunday.

Following the vacation, to embrace those for autumn, eid and Durga Puja, the apex court of the country will reopen October 12.

During the vacation, 12 benches will function in the High Court Division in phases. Justice Jainul Abedin has been given the charge of hearing the emergency cases in the Appellate Division.
He will conduct hearing of emergency cases in the chamber court of the Appellate Division from 10.30 am on four days- September 1, 8, 15, and October 6.
In the High Court Division, six vacation benches will work in the first phase from August 31 to September 20 while six other vacation benches will work in the second phase from September 12 to October 11.
A one-member bench of Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury will hear new and old civil cases two days every week – from 10.30 am to 1 pm every Sunday and Wednesday.
