A three-day long border conference of Bangladesh Rifles and India's Border Security Force began in Dhaka Thursday, with a view to discuss a number of unresolved issues between the neighbouring countries.

BSF director general Ashish Kumar Mitra is leading 19-member Indian delegation, while BDR director general Shakil Ahmed is leading the 22-member Bangladesh delegation at the conference at BDR headquarters in Peelkhana.
The agenda includes curbing smuggling and drug peddling, and preventing illegal border crossings.
The first day's session ended in midday; the second session will be held on Friday.
The BSF director general paid a courtesy visit to home adviser MA Matin later in the day.
Home secretary Abdul Karim, BDR's director general and Indian high commissioner Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty and other top officials of the two countries were present.
