ACC sues five of its officials |

Dhaka, Aug 7 (bdnews24.com) – The Anticorruption Commission has sued five of its officials and suspended them on a variety of charges, a senior official said Thursday. ACC director general (administration) Hanif Iqbal told reporters, at his Segunbagicha office, that seven other officials of the commission would face departmental action.
The charges against them include corruption, misappropriation of money as well as professional misconduct, he said.
ACC assistant inspector Md Nizamuddin and control operator Md Abdur Rahman have been accused of collecting illegal tolls through intimidation, while constables Md Harun-or-Rashid Bhuiyan, Md Abdul Motaleb Khandaker and Mir Reza Habibur face bribery charges.
These five officials will face departmental action too, Hanif said.
The other seven facing departmental action include: deputy director Md Quamrul Ahsan who stands accused of misconduct with people; assistant director Saif Mahmud who remained abroad absent from his post without official permission; assistant director Md Shamsul Alam and office assistant Sayek Ahmad who are accused of workplace misconduct; and constables Md Mizanur Rahman and Md Golam Rasul and control operator Md Habibullah, who all face allegations of misappropriation of money.
