Ghana ace ready for move Sky Sports Ghanaian starlet Anthony Annan has told skysports.com that he is relishing the prospect of signing for Paul Ince's Blackburn. Annan has been compared to the likes of Claude Makelele and his good friend and international team-mate Michael Essien.
Atletico Madrid and AC Milan have both made enquiries in recent weeks about Annan - who has caught the eye of a number of clubs across Europe with his performances for both Ghana and Stabaek in Norway.
Chelsea were also tipped off about Annan by Essien - but Blackburn are now in pole position to land the player after making their move last week.
Annan is now training with Rovers and he is ecstatic to be in the company of new boss Ince - who he regards as an inspirational figure within the game. Ince ambition
"I am very proud to have the opportunity to work with Paul Ince, everybody in world football knows what a great player he was and to have the opportunity to learn from him is fantastic, it can only help to make me a better player," Annan told skysports.com.
'Training has been great, the facilities at Blackburn are the best I have experienced and all of the players and coaching staff made me feel really welcome.
"The atmosphere was friendly and bubbly and I am here to work hard, learn and to impress."
Despite being just 22, Annan feels he has enough experience to make an immediate impact at Blackburn.
"I have experience of European football, playing in the very tough and physical Norwegian league with Staebek who are leading the championship just now," he continued.
"I have played in the African Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers with the Ghana national team, playing alongside Essien and Muntari and that has helped me develop and although I am 22, I am mature and ready for the Premier League.'
Annan is currently on loan at Stabaek from Start - but a deal is already in place should Rovers, as expected, push through and finalise the transfer.
