SW, MADRID - Real Madrid's Wesley Sneijder might not be as seriously injured as fear initially. This is the outcome of tests performed on Monday. Sneijder was stretchered off the pitch during Real's friendly match with Arsenal on Sunday, and club officials feared an absence of up to six months.
The tests point out that the player tore one of his internal knee ligaments, which would keep him out for around three months.
This is relatively good news, as initially it was feared that the Dutchman also tore the cruciate ligament in his knee. This turned out not to be the case.
In the best case, Sneijder might even be able to return to action in two months from now
