Jalaluddin Md Abdul Hye has joined the Water Resources Planning Organisation as new director general, WARPO said in a statement Monday.

Hye replaces M Inamul Haque who has been transferred to the Water Development Board as additional director general (planning).

Hye is the 17th DG for WARPO, established in 1992.

WARPO that works under the water resources ministry plans the use of water resources of Bangladesh and maintains a national database on water.

Hye joined the Water Development Board as an assistant engineer in 1975.
