Olofinjana joins Potters from Wolves Sky Sports Stoke City have confirmed the signing of Nigeria international midfielder Seyi Olofinjana on a £3million deal from Wolves. The 28-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a four-year contract with Tony Pulis' side, with the deal subject to a work permit being granted.
Olofinjana played 147 games during his four-year stay at Molineux, having signed from Norwegian side SK Brann for £1.7million in July 2004. Enhance
Pulis told the club's official website: "Seyi is a great acquisition for this football club, and I am delighted he chose to join us ahead of several other top flight clubs.
"He is a player we think will enhance the squad and again it shows our ambitions to be competitive in the Premier League."
And chief executive Tony Scholes added: "I'm delighted that we've signed a Nigerian international to complement the rest of our squad.
"Seyi will be joining up with the rest of the players on Monday after they return from a successful pre-season tour in Austria."
Opportunity
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is confident Stoke have signed a player who can make his mark in the top flight.
He said: "He's a Premier League player and if he gets the opportunity he'll go on.
"Everyone I've spoken to, I've said 'take him' because if I was a Premier League manager I'd sign him. He's that good.
"He'll probably be even better in the Premier League than he was in the Championship."
