Dollar down, gold up in Europe |

AP, LONDON -- The U.S. dollar was lower Friday against most other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices rose. The 15-nation euro rose to $1.5721, up from $1.5681 late Thursday in New York. Other dollar rates compared with late rates Thursday included: 107.06 Japanese yen, down from 107.68; 1.0333 Swiss francs, down from 1.0383, and 1.0130 Canadian dollars, up from 1.0089. The British pound was quoted at $1.9942, up from $1.9849. Gold traded in London at $932.25 per troy ounce, up from $928.00 Thursday.
