Bangladesh Bank has made it mandatory for banks to appoint two directors from depositors, reports agency.

The central bank issued a circular for all banks Wednesday.
 
Bangladesh Bank governor Salehuddin Ahmed told bdnews24.com that the decision was meant to protect the interests of depositors.
