Bus-truck collision leaves 6 dead in Sirajganj PDF Print E-mail

Six people were killed and 20 others injured in a morning collision between a bus and a truck in Sirajganj Saturday, police said.

Dr Abdul Matin, 45, a physician for Lalmonirhat Government Hospital, and his assistant Alamgir Hossain, 50, were among the dead. The others could not be immediately identified.
 
The bus driver also died in the accident, our Sirajganj correspondent reports.
 
The accident occurred after the Dhaka-bound bus from Lalmonirhat collided with the truck on a link road through Sirajganj to the Jamuna Bridge.
 
The injured were taken to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital.
 
Officer-in-charge of Jamuna Bridge (West) Police Station Md Mostafa Rawshan said the bus of Anindya Paribahan was carrying pilgrims from Lalmonirhat to the mazaar of Dewanbag Pir in Dhaka.
 
Three people died on the scene. Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Sadar Hospital morgue.
 
In another incident, bdnews24.com's Bogra correspondent reports, Fazlur Rahman, a trucker, and Sohel who was on the same truck, died after the truck hit a tree in Krishnapur of Sherpur upazila on Dhaka-Bogra Highway Saturday.
 
Fazlur Rahman, 35, came from Mohadevpur in Naogaon and Sohel, 22, from Patnitala.
