Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina has said there is no alternative to an elected government for the stability of a country, addressing a meeting of AL supporters in London on Thursday (GMT).

Hasina, who was given a temporary release order by the government to seek medical treatment, returned to London on July 14 after attending the akd of her nephew in Finland.
"Only an election at the right time can restore democracy," she said at the AL meeting in London.
The former prime minister said the upazila polls ahead of the national polls would not bring any good results for the country.
Hasina demanded unconditional release of all detained party leaders.
