At long last chairman Amin of Kalipur Union under Banskhali municipality surrendered at Banskhali Court yesterday.

He was the prime accused in the gruesome killing of 11 at Banskhali by arsoning on November 18, 2003.

He prayed for bail  at the court of Judicial magistrate Joinal Hakim who rejected the prayer and ordered to send him to jail.
According to sources, Amin, cousin of former BNP leader and state minister for forest and environment had long been absconding since the killing.

Bimol Kumar Shil, member of the victims family filed a murder case the next day with Amin as the prime accused.

The case is now under investigation.

GRO of the court told this correspondent that Amin prayed for bail in one case of clash, one of extortion and another of murder.

The court granted him bail in the case of clash but rejected him in two other cases ordering to send him to jail.
