Bdnews24.com Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority has hiked launch fare in the wake of an increase in fuel prices, a spokesperson said Thursday. The new fare will be effective from Friday, BIWTA public relations officer Kamrunnahar Begum said. At a board meeting Thursday, BIWTA decided to raise fare by Tk 0.18 to Tk 1.18 for each of the first 100 kilometres. The fare will increase by Tk 0.08 to Tk 0.88 per kilometre after the first 100km of travelling, the official told bdnews24.com. The authorities have set the minimum fare at Tk 9.
