Road accident at Manikchhari

Law adviser Hassan Ariff was injured in a road accident returning to Chittagong from a political dialogue session in Khagrachhari Friday.

The adviser was injured when the vehicle he was travelling in skidded off the road at Manikchhari after the driver lost control of the steering.

Manikchhari police officials said the car carrying the adviser lost control and fell into a roadside ditch as it reached the Mohamoni crossing in Manikchhari.

Hassan Arrif's personal assistant, bodyguard and driver were also injured in the accident.

Fatikchhari police officer-in-charge Shahadat Hossain told this correspondent "The adviser and other injured came through Fatikchhari as they were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital."

Shahadat said the adviser's bodyguard was seriously injured in the accident.
