President Nicolas Sarkozy, whose wife Carla Bruni is about to release her third album, has taken the novel step of opening up the Elysee palace to concerts during France's annual music festival, reports AFP.Joining the hundreds of town squares, concert halls and stadiums that will be filled with music on Saturday for the Fete de la Musique, the Elysee will welcome guests to a series of jazz and classical concerts. Brazilian jazz ensemble Spok Frevo Orchestra will round off the day of concerts, held in the Elysee's court of honour, said a statement from the French presidency. A former supermodel who veered into music in her mid-thirties, France's first lady is due to release "Comme Si De Rien N'Etait" (Simply) on July 21, an album of 14 songs, most of which she wrote.
