AP, LONDON -- The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Tuesday morning. Gold fell.

The euro traded at $1.5506, up from $1.5489 late Monday in New York.

Other dollar rates:

--108.03 Japanese yen, down from 108.12

--1.0414 Swiss francs, down from 1.0446

--1.0211 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0238

The British pound was quoted at $1.9553, down from $1.9635.

Gold traded in London at $883.00 per troy ounce, down from $888.25 late Monday.
