A former BNP lawmaker filed a writ petition Sunday challenging the legality of the redemarcation of electoral constituencies recently carried out by the Election Commission.

Abdul Mannan, former lawmaker for Dhaka-2 (Nababganj) constituency filed the writ with the High Court bench of Justices Syed Mahmud Hossain and Farid Ahmed.

The hearing on the petition is set to take place at 2:00 pm when advocate Khandakar Mahbubuddin Ahmed will attend the hearing.

The EC redrew 133 electoral constituencies of the national parliament on April 29.
