The High Court has pushed back to Monday the hearing on a writ appeal that challenges the Election Commission's redefining of constituencies, reports bdnews24.com.

A former BNP lawmaker filed the writ petition Sunday, contesting the legality of the recent redrawing of electoral constituencies.

Abdul Mannan, the ex-MP from Dhaka-2 (Nababganj) constituency, filed the petition with the High Court bench of justices Syed Mahmud Hossain and Farid Ahmed.

The hearing on the petition had been set to take place at 2:00pm Sunday. Advocate Khandakar Mahbubuddin Ahmed was supposed to attend the hearing.

The Election Commission redrew 133 constituencies of parliament on April 29.
