Ten passengers were injured when a bus turned turtle at Russell Square on Mirpur Road in Dhaka Saturday, reports bdnews24.com.

The bus also rammed into a taxicab and a car before it overturned.

The bus from Gulistan to Dhamari lost control and hit the road island around 3pm. The taxicab and the car were badly damaged.

Bulbul Ahmed, who was on the scene, told bdnews24.com: "All of a sudden, I saw a bus on the road island. Later, it came down with a big bang."

Taxicab driver Mobarak Hossain said the bus hit the taxi from behind and then went up on the road island and fell with a bang.

He said that though the taxi was seriously damaged, the three passengers remained unhurt.

Owner of the car Farhan Ahmed said his car had been badly damaged and the driver injured. He was taken to hospital.

Dhanmondi Police Station assistant sub-inspector Monwar Hossain said about a dozen people had been injured.

They were hospitalised, he said.

The driver of the bus fled after the accident, he said. Police seized the bus
