Rangs Bhaban Collapse

The police retrieved the remains of a dead security guard from the rubble of Rangs Bhaban Wednesday, five months after several floors of the building came crashing down, a police officer said.

The skeleton of Shahidul Islam, 23, has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue.

Shahidul had worked for Shield Security Company, which was in charge of security there, when the building floors collapsed on Dec 8 last year. The latest recovery took the death toll from the Rangs building collapse to 12.

Tejgaon police retrieved the skeleton of Shahidul from the third floor of the building shortly before noon, sub-inspector Abu Sayeed Miah told bdnews24.com.

Shahidul came from Chapainawabganj district. He was identified by the uniform of the security company.
